Hendra Soetjipto Tan is a prominent figure in the energy industry. He is currently the President Director of PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk and the Group Chief Executive Officer of Star Energy Geothermal Group, where he oversees Star Energy Geothermal, which specializes in the geothermal sector and Barito Wind Energy, which focuses on the wind sector. His leadership is central to the company’s growth.

He strives to establish Star Energy Geothermal Group as the global leader in geothermal energy production, with a targeted capacity expansion to 1,200 MW by 2028. Beyond geothermal, he is also committed in wind energy, spearheading the operation of Indonesia's largest windfarm through Barito Wind Energy. During his 20-years tenure at the group, he has effectively secured over US$ 5 billion in bond and project financing for various geothermal initiatives, including refinancing, acquisitions, and development projects at Star Energy and Barito Wind Energy. Hendra Tan’s commitment to sustainable energy plays a vital role in Indonesia’s transition away from fossil fuels.

Hendra Tan holds a master’s degree in engineering management from Cornell University. Before joining the group, Hendra accumulated over 20 years of experience in the finance industry. His previous roles included positions at PT. Nusantara Capital and PT. Bahana Securities. Additionally, he worked as an analyst at PT. Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, a securities arm of Deutsche Bank, and gained expertise in property sector matters with PT. Procon Indah/Jones Wootton.

Outside of work, he enjoys running, jogging, biking, practicing Yoga, and constructing sophisticated Lego models.
