Ir. Raj Kannan is a chartered engineer with over 28 years of experience in leading
the delivery of major infrastructure and energy deals and designing and
implementing economic growth strategies for governments and corporates within the
Asia Pacific Region. He has undertaken these deals in Australia, China, Indonesia,
India, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka.
Within Indonesia, he was the lead adviser to the Coordinating Ministry of Economic
Affairs, for the National Strategic Projects involving over $180billion of
infrastructure and renewable energy projects. He led the development of Indonesia’s
5-year economic master plan called RPJMN 2015-2019. He established and interim
managed an infrastructure bank, called PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance for the
Indonesian Ministry of Finance, and established and acted as the program manager
for KPPIP, an agency that coordinates all priority and strategic projects for the
government. He was also the adviser to the “Indonesia Terang” program for rural
electrification in Eastern Indonesia under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral
Resources.
Raj joined Deloitte 6-years ago via the acquisition of his private firm (Tusk Advisory), which was a leading adviser to the
Government of Indonesia. Within Deloitte Raj has held several leadership roles, including as the leader for Government & Public
Services for Indonesia, SEA leader for International Development Organizations. He is currently the Asia Pacific and SEA leader
for Infrastructure & Real Estate and Industry leader for Energy, Resources & Industrials. Raj is based in Jakarta.
Raj is frequent speaker at major conferences and is also an Adjunct Faculty at Singapore Management University on both
infrastructure and energy transition related subjects.
