Khoon Tee Tan is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and leader of our Indonesia office. He is a leader in McKinsey’s Operations Practice in Southeast Asia and led McKinsey’s implementation work in Asia. Khoon Tee’s expertise lies in strategy, organization, operations transformation, and lean operation methodology.

Since joining McKinsey, Khoon Tee has served leading downstream petroleum companies throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States. Some of his recent work includes developing the long-term strategic master plan for a major Asian oil-refining company, designing and implementing 2- year operations-transformation program across five major refineries of an oil & gas company, and developing international growth strategies for refining and petrochemical companies across the value chain.

In addition to serving clients, Khoon Tee has several pieces of research on the impact of digital technologies in Indonesia and the oil and gas sector. Khoon Tee holds a MEng (with distinction) and MA in mechanical engineering from the University of Cambridge.
